Tennessee Tech students are encouraged to earn a Mathematics Minor
by completing 15 hours of mathematics courses, including at least 6
hours
at upper level (3000-level or higher)(*). To declare the minor, please
complete the
Mathematics
Minor Declaration Form (pdf) and bring it to the Mathematics
Department
located in Bruner Hall 235. When the coursework is approved, a certificate
of completion will be issued to the student by the Mathematics
Department.
Here are a few sequences of mathematics courses that can be
counted
towards the minor:
- Applied concentration:
- MATH 1910 Calculus 1 (4 cr), MATH 1920 Calculus 2 (4 cr), MATH
2110
Calculus
3 (4 cr), and two more 3-credit courses at 3000/4000 level such as MATH
3810, 4210/4220, 4250/4260, 4510, 4530, 4710, or other.
- Pure concentration:
- MATH 1910 Calculus 1 (4 cr), MATH 1920 Calculus 2 (4 cr), MATH
2110
Calculus
3 (4 cr), and two more 3-credit courses at 3000/4000 level such as MATH
3400, 3430, 3510/3520, 4050, 4110/4120, 4310/4320, 4350, 4360,
4410,
4530/4540, 4610, 4620, or other.
- Statistics concentration
- MATH 1910 Calculus 1 (4 cr), MATH 1920 Calculus 2 (4 cr), and
three
more
3-credit courses at 3000/4000 level such as MATH 3070/3080, 3470,
4470/4480, 4530/4540
