Information about financial aid such as grants and loans can be found at the TTU Financial Aid Office website.  Information about TTU scholarships can be found at the TTU Scholarship website.

The TTU Department of Mathematics awards scholarships to incoming freshmen, to transfer students, and to TTU upperclassmen.  The selection criteria for these scholarships include the student’s previous academic record, standardized test scores, and, if applicable, the student’s written description of his/her career goals and their relationship to the study of mathematics.

FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN:
Incoming freshmen who have applied for admission to TTU as a mathematics major are automatically considered for the Dunavin and Volpe scholarships.  Directions for how to apply for a Stonecipher Mathematics Scholarship can be found by clicking on the Stonecipher Scholarship link below.

The Leonard Dunavin Mathematics Scholarship provides up to $350 for the first year of study for an incoming freshman mathematics major from the Upper Cumberland area.

The Angelo and Jennette Volpe Scholarship provides $1000 to an incoming freshman majoring in mathematics and needing financial assistance.  Applicants must have an ACT Math score of at least 24.  The determination of student’s financial need is made based upon the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Dr. Angelo Volpe, former TTU President, established this scholarship.

The STONECIPHER MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIP provides up to $2000 a year to an incoming freshman mathematics major.  This scholarship can be renewed for three additional years provided the student continues as a mathematics major and maintains a QPA of at least 3.0 in all mathematics courses taken and an overall QPA of at least 3.0.

To apply for the Stonecipher Scholarship, students should submit by February 1 a written description of how the study of mathematics relates to their career goals.  These materials should be sent to
